  1. What is the skill level of the league in which the Mambas participate?

Yes, we compete against strong, competitive teams every weekend, depending on the league we participate in. However, our focus extends beyond just playing against top teams—we prioritize developing both skills and character in our players. Additionally, we conduct regular grade checks throughout the season to reinforce the importance of excelling as a true “student-athlete.”

  2. What is your coaching experience?

As a former Division II football player and track athlete, I bring firsthand experience and a deep understanding of athletic development to my coaching. I have worked with athletes from 5th through 12th grade, focusing on their growth both on and off the court.

My assistant coach complements this approach with her extensive basketball knowledge and experience. Having played through high school and with a strong coaching background, she emphasizes fundamental skills and a well-rounded approach to player development, providing a valuable perspective to our team.

  3. What does a typical practice look like?

After warm-ups, we transition into dynamic drills such as 3-on-2 and 2-on-1 scenarios (15–20 minutes). Then four-corner layups and elbow shots (another 15–20 minutes) with an emphasis on communication and precision from triple-threat into decisive moves.

Next: passing drills (backdoor, front, back cuts, and screen-away actions) to build timing, footwork, and movement without the ball. We’ll also review film during practice or in separate sessions.

We reinforce positioning/boxing out, review our playbook (~15 plays including inbounds), then shift to defense: ball pressure, positioning, and footwork, staying lower than the opponent. Partner/off-hand drills reinforce fundamentals.

To finish: 30–45 minutes of scrimmage, then conditioning (e.g., suicides). Practices are engaging, structured, and focused on steady improvement—you’re welcome to observe.

  4. What are your club dues and what do they include?

Our club dues are transparent with zero markup. Parents only cover operational costs for their child. We practice twice a week for two hours each session and compete in highly competitive leagues—typically two at a time—resulting in two Saturday games.

Our coaches are 100% volunteers with master’s degrees and over 10 years of combined coaching experience.

  5. Do you plan to keep the club team running year-round?

Yes, we operate year-round to ensure continuous development for our players.
